ABOUT THE STRAND

The Strand is a well-established & professional 5 piece function band. Our aim is to create a fun party atmosphere and to keep the dance floor alive !

We have a wide repertoire of carefully selected music ranging from the 60's to current. 'The Strand' songlist contains classics from well known artistes including:

Reservations can be made up to a year in advance.

Forthcoming events 2012

As most of our bookings are private parties, weddings etc, we are generally unable to invite guests so we try to keep a few local public venues in our diary. If you are thinking of booking a band or if you would just like to have a great evening out, please come along.

Sat 14 July - The Strand Summer BBQ - this year all proceeds will be in aid of the Joe Glover Trust - see Facebook page. Tickets are now on sale now at only £5 (£2.50 child)

Fri 23 November - The Old Mill, Holbury
Sat 1st December - The Strand Xmas Cracker - As last years party went down so well we are doing it again at Victoria House, Netley. Tickets only £15 (includes a light supper). Get your tickets early as this is expected to sell out fast.
New Year's Eve, 31st December - The Croft Tavern, Hythe

2011 Summary
Strand Xmas Cracker (3/12/2011) - thanks for all your kind comments about our Xmas Party at Victoria House. This was our first attempt and we were pleased to find that all the tickets sold out fast. We have recently decided to repeat this for 2012 & we are keen to hear any ideas suggestions (theme, food or whatever) that you might have.....no you can't choose another band !!
Summer BBQ 2011 - (£12,000 raised !) - What a great day ! The band would like to say a massive 'thanks' to everyone who came along. We really appreciate all those who helped out over the weekend and also for everone who donated so generously.

We would especially like to thank R & M Electrical, John Thorn Electrical and also Danny of Cash Recycle Ltd for donating such fantastic prizes for our Raffle and Auction.

Many people also commented on what a nice atmosphere there was and what a great evening they had. We also had letters of thanks from the JDRF and from the Guides Association and you can be sure the money raised will be put to good use. Thanks again from Peter, Steve, Ben, Twig & Phil

NOTE: In previous years this event has raised significant funds for Hythe Sea Scouts, Hamble Scouts, Totton Dialysis Unit, Ashurst Hospital, The Oakhaven Hospice, the 'Smile 4 Wessex' appeal (Wessex Neurological Centre Trust), Girlguiding UK and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
